Tour itinerary: 14 Days tour authentic Morocco from Marrakech
Day 1: Arrival at Marrakech – Transfert to the Hotel.
Our driver will pick you up at the airport and you’ll have the day to explore the main square Jemaa el Fnaa and the souks.
Day 2: Full Day To Visit Marrakech
Today, you will have an optional private Guided tour of Marrakech, with an official guide, you will see the famous Mosque of Koutoubia, the Medina and its souks, and explore some more of Marrakech’s secrets: Ali Ben Youssef Koranic school, The Saadian the Bahia Palace, And Majorelle Gardens, Night at a Riad in the Medina.
Day 3: Marrakech – Essaouira
Leaving Marrakech for the seaside town of Essaouira, a relaxing drive lined with argan oil cooperatives will take you to this UNESCO World Heritage-listed city. The windswept fishing port, With broad beaches, And an ancient walled Medina, With ramparts built into the cliffs, has long been a popular destination. With its relaxed feel, Take in the small but lively Medina, Stroll along the ramparts or beach, and Visit the port to see the daily catch. The Gnaouas Music Festival is held in Essaouira in June. Overnight at the Atlantic coast of Essaouira.
Day 4: Essaouira – Safi – El Oualidia
Departure from Essaouira to Oualidia, and Stop in Safi, a previously Portuguese-occupied town famous as the centre of sardine exports, Safi is perhaps most well-known for its pottery. Arrive and relax in Oualidia, a small seaside village with a protected lagoon, estuary, and the wild Atlantic Ocean all right on your doorstep. Then, walking bird watching (Oualidia is at the centre of Morocco’s richest bird habitat, particularly in Spring and Autumn), fishing, swimming, kayaking and surfing are just some of the activities you can enjoy in Oualidia.
Day 5: Oualidia – El Jadida – Casablanca – Rabat
In the morning, we will drive to Rabat and continue our journey up the Atlantic Coast. Pass through El Jadida and the small port city, formerly controlled by the Portuguese, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage site; and stop in Casablanca to visit Mohammed V square and the impressive mosque of Hassan II. Explore the Imperial City of Rabat, including the Mechouar (the ramparts and walls surrounding the Royal Palace), the majestic Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Hassan Tower, and the Oudaya Kasbah, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and offering fabulous views, as well as home to Moroccan artisan galleries.
Day 6: Rabat – Asilah – Tangier (North Morocco)
Today, we head to Tangier along the stunning coastal road. Visit Asilah, a beautiful coastal town with its whitewashed houses, blue walls and doors, and many murals. Tangier, the gateway to Africa from Europe, has always been an international melting pot. Take a tour of Tangier and explore the bustling medina, and city surroundings, and enjoy the stunning vista where the Mediterranean and Atlantic oceans meet.
Day 7: Tangier – Rif Mountains – Chefchaouen
After breakfast, I left Tangier for the enchanting mountain village of Chefchaouen, passing through the green valleys of the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen is famous for its vivid blue-rinsed houses and is very popular for both tourists and Moroccans, particularly in the hot summer months. Explore Chefchaouen, with its winding lanes and narrow alleys which are home to numerous souks offering cuisine and artisan works, such as woollen items, intricate embroidery, and goat’s cheese; all native to the North and not found anywhere else in Morocco. Relax in the square, visit a local farm or hike in nearby parks.
Day 8: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After your breakfast, we will depart to Volubilis and explore the ruins of this Roman city. We continue to Meknes, where you will explore the Medina of Meknes and the Sahrij Souani. Used for irrigation and plantation, The Square of Lehdim, and the Gate of Bab al Mansour. You will have the opportunity to explore the souks. Later we will continue onto Fes. Accommodation at a traditional Riad.
Day 9: Full Day To Explore Fes
Specialised day for Exploring the attractions of Fes, the old imperial city of Morocco. The tour starts from the Royal Palace gate, you will have the opportunity to visit the ceramics cooperative, to see traditional Moroccan crafts. And takes you through the narrow streets of the Medina to the Jewish Quarter and the Tanneries. This tour highlights all the sites with cultural and historical interest. Including the famous Al Karaouine University, Overnight.
Day 10: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga
Today morning, we will drive to the Sahara desert. Passing through Ifrane and the cedar forests, where the wild monkeys are located. It will be a good opportunity to take photos of the wilderness in Morocco. Lunch in a small Berber village. We continue the way through the Atlas Mountains enjoying the landscapes of Midelt, then Erfoud in which we’ll feel the beginning of the Desert oasis of Tafilalet. And then, continue to Merzouga desert, Overnight in the hotel/riad.
Day 11: Merzouga – Berber Families – Khamlia – Camel ride
After breakfast in the hotel, you’ll start your explorative desert journey of the area, visiting Nomad families and Gnaoua village Khamlia. Where we will be entertained with authentic instruments. After spending a worthwhile moment with Gnaoua, you will have a traditional Berber Pizza. After lunch, you’ll ride the camels to spend the night in a Desert Camp.
Day 12: Merzouga – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades valley
Wake up early morning to enjoy the sunrise, on the top of the dunes in the Sahara Desert. After breakfast, you will ride your camel back to the place where you will meet your driver. We will continue our 14 days tour towards Dades Valley, passing by Rissani and Tinejdad. Have a break for lunch. In the afternoon, we will continue to Todra Gorges via. Stopping along the way for photos and admiring the views. Moreover, Arrive at Todra Gorges to enjoy its marvellous Canyons views while hiking on foot. Later on, we drive to Boumalne du Dades and stop for a panoramic view of Dades Valley
Day 13: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – The high Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
This morning, after breakfast. We leave for Marrakech via the High Atlas mountains, stopping for a panoramic view of Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas film studios, you will visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1986, where many films took place such as Alexander, Gladiator, Babel…, and lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will drive to Marrakech, Over the mountains of high Atlas, passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 m in altitude).
Day 14: Marrakech – Airport
Transfert from the hotel to the airport, end of the 14 days tour from Marrakech.
