12 Days from Tangier to the desert and Casablanca

12 days tour from Tangier to the Atlantic coast via the Sahara desert, you will explore the imperial cities in Morocco and experience the camel trekking in the Erg Chebbi dunes

Day 1: Arrival in Tangier 

Upon arrival at the airport/port in Tangier, you will be met and start to visit the famous Hercules Cave, the beautiful beach of Achakar, and Cap Spartel, where the Mediterranean and Atlantic oceans meet. Visit the old town, with its warren of atmospheric alleys

Day 2: Tangier – Chefchaouen

Leaving Tangier towards Chefchaouen, through the Rif mountains and Tetouan city. To enjoy the views of the beautiful mountains of Morocco until we get to Chefchaouan, one of the stunning villages at the feet of the Rif mountains. Chefchaouen Medina (the old part of the city) with its blue colour become one of the best towns to visit in Morocco, surrounded by many funky arts, and crafts stores, roof-top restaurants and cafes. Overnight in Chefchaoun.

Day 3: Chefchaouen Volubilis Meknes Fes

After breakfast, our 12 days tour from Tangier will depart to Volubilis and explore the ruins of this Roman city. We continue to Meknes, where you will explore the Medina of Meknes and the Sahrij Souani. Used for irrigation and plantation, The Square of Lehdim, and the Gate of Bab al Mansour. You will have the opportunity to explore the souks, later we will continue onto Fez. Accommodation at a traditional Riad.

Day 4: Fes Sightseeing

Exploring day with a local guide, exploring the attractions of Fes one of the Imperial cities in Morocco. The tour starts from the Royal Palace gate, you will have the opportunity, to visit the ceramics cooperative to see traditional Moroccan crafts; and it takes you through the narrow streets of the Medina, to the Jewish Quarter and the Tanneries. This tour highlights all the sites of cultural and historical interest, including the famous Al karaouine Universit, in the afternoon, we will take you to admire the panoramic view over the Medina, and visit the new city or the new Fes.

Day 5: Fes – Ifrane Midelt – Merzouga desert

After breakfast, we will drive to the Sahara desert, Passing through Ifrane and the cedar forests, where the wild monkeys are located. It will be a good opportunity to take photos of the wilderness in Morocco. Lunch in a small Berber village. We continue the way through the Atlas Mountains enjoying the landscapes of Midelt, then Erfoud in which we’ll feel the beginning of the Desert oasis of Tafilalet. And then continue to Merzouga desert, after relaxing few min.. you’ll ride the camels to spend the night in a Desert Camp.

Day 6: Merzouga – Todra gorges – Dades valley

Wake up early morning, to catch the beauty of the sunrise in the desert, After breakfast. Then, departure to Rissani, the desert’s gate of Erg Chebbi, with a bustling Souk little frequented by tourists, A park of donkeys near the market. Then, drive to Tinghir and Todra Gorges. It is the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the gorge, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley enjoying the rock formations and monkey toes. Overnight in Dades valley.

Day 7: Dades valley – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

After having breakfast, departure to Marrakech via Ouarzazate. Stopping for a panoramic view of the Taourirt Kasbah, and the atlas film studios. After that, you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. which has served as a natural decoration for many movie producers since the 1960s. And stop for lunch in a local restaurant in the village. In the afternoon, we will drive to Marrakech over the mountains of high Atlas passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 m in altitude). Drop off in Marrakech.

Day 8: Full day to visit Marrakech

Today, you will have an optional private Guided Tour of Marrakech, with an official guide from Marrakech. You will see the famous Mosque of Koutoubia, the Medina and its souks, and explore some more of Marrakech’s secrets: Ali Ben Youssef Koranic school, the Saadian the Bahia Palace and Majorelle Gardens, overnight in a Riad at the Medina.

Day 9: Marrakech –  Essaouira

Today we will leave Marrakech towards Essaouira, and drive for a 3 hours trip to the port town. You will have an optional visit to a cooperative of Argan oil before you arrive in Essaouira. Upon arrival, you will start a walking tour in the traditional port. then, you walk through arches, and Ramparts that belong to the 18th century. The tour also features a stop by Dutch cannons, directed towards the sea. You can also roam around the market which displays oak products as the main artefact of the city. Lunch, and then check into the hotel. Free time in the afternoon.

Day 10: Essaouira Casablanca 

In the morning after breakfast, depart towards Casablanca, we will be able to explore some places in the city such as the biggest Mosque Hassan II and the Coastal Seaside “Corniche” before we come back to the hotel overnight.

Day 11:  Casablanca – Rabat – Asilah 

This day will start with travelling to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. You will see the Hassan Tower, and walk the Udayas Kasbah before we arrive in Asilah, most of the drive will be by the coast where you will have the opportunity to explore the city. Asilah is known for its annual festival for art. And most of the walls of Medina are painted by various famous artists from all over the world. Your visit includes the Skalla fortress, where you will experience a wonderful view of the Medina and the ocean. overnight in our Hotel/Riad.

Day 12: Asilah – Tangier

In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Tangier airport/port. end of your 12 days tour from Tangier.
