8 Days tour from Tangier to Sahara via Chefchaouen

Day 1: Arrival in Tangier 

Upon arrival at the airport/port in Tangier, you will be met and start to visit the famous Hercules Cave, the beautiful beach of Achakar, and Cap Spartel, where the Mediterranean and Atlantic oceans meet. Visit the old town, with its warren of atmospheric alleys

Day 2: Tangier – Chefchaouen

Leaving Tangier towards Chefchaouen, through the Rif mountains and Tetouan city. To enjoy the views of the beautiful mountains of Morocco until we get to Chefchaouan, one of the stunning villages at the feet of the Rif mountains. Chefchaouen Medina (the old part of the city) with its blue color become one of the best towns to visit in Morocco, surrounded by many funky arts, and crafts stores, roof-top restaurants, and cafes. Overnight in Chefchaoun.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

Today, we will depart to Volubilis and explore the ruins of this Roman city. We continue our 8 days tour to Meknes, where you will explore the Medina of Meknes and the Sahrij Souani. Used for irrigation and plantation, The Square of Lehdim, and the Gate of Bab al Mansour. You will have the opportunity to explore the souks, later we will continue onto Fez. Accommodation at a traditional Riad.

Day 4: Full day to visit Fes with a local guide

Specialized day for Exploring the attractions of Fez, the old imperial city of Morocco. The tour starts from the Royal Palace gate, visit the Jewish Quarter, you will have the opportunity to visit the ceramics cooperative and see traditional Moroccan crafts. Walk through the narrow streets of the Medina and visit the Tanneries. This tour highlights all the sites with cultural and historical interest. Including the famous Al karaouine University, Overnight.

Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga desert

After breakfast, we will drive to the Sahara desert. Passing through Ifrane and the cedar forests, where the wild monkeys are located. It will be a good opportunity to take photos of the wilderness in Morocco. Lunch in a small Berber village. We continue the way through the Atlas Mountains enjoying the landscapes of Midelt, then Erfoud in which we’ll feel the beginning of the Desert oasis of Tafilalet. And then continue to Merzouga desert, after relaxing few min.. you’ll ride the camels to spend the night in a Desert Camp.

Day 6: Merzouga – Khamlia – Merzouga – Sahara desert

Wake up early morning, to catch the beauty of the sunrise in the desert, you will ride camels back to where you will meet your driver, you will have all the day around the desert, visit Nomad families, and Gnaoua village Khamlia. Where we will be entertained with authentic instruments. After spending a worthwhile moment with Gnaoua, you will have a traditional Berber Pizza. Then, we drive to the Hotel or Riad, overnight.

Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra gorges – Dades valley

Today morning, departure to Rissani, the desert’s gate of Erg Chebbi, with a bustling Souk little frequented by tourists, a park of donkeys near the market. Then, drive to Tinghir and Todra Gorges. It is the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the gorge, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley enjoying the rock formations and monkey toes. Overnight in Dades valley.

Day 8: Dades valley – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

After having breakfast, departure to Marrakech via Ouarzazate. Stopping for a panoramic view of the Taourirt Kasbah, and the atlas film studios. After that. You will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. which has served as a natural decoration for many movie producers since the 1960s. And stop for lunch in a local restaurant in the village. In the afternoon, we will drive to Marrakech over the mountains of high Atlas passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 m in altitude). Drop off in Marrakech. End of the 8 days tour from Tangier.
