5 Days from Fes to Marrakech – Stargazing desert tour

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

After we meet at the place where we had agreed, we will drive from Fes via Ifrane and Azrou. Passing the Middle Atlas Mountains “Tizi n T’lghamt pass”. During our trip, we will stop in a lot of areas to take pictures and have lunch, then we continue our tour through Ziz Valley and  Erfoud after we reach the heart of the Moroccan Sahara Desert Merzouga, you will have some rest, ride your camels and trekking to the deep desert. During our camel trekking, we will catch the sunset between sand dunes. Overnight.

Day 2: Merzouga – Khamlia – Ouzina dunes – Tafraout Ait Atta.

Adventure day, the journey will begin visiting Khamlia, a truly unique Gnawa village, then traversing across some very diverse landscapes. We take the trail through sand rivers, villages lost in nothingness, nomad camps, and dry lakes until we reach the Tafraout desert: a magnificent place, accessible only by off-road tracks, overnight.

Day 3: Tafraout Ait Atta – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After breakfast, we will continue our desert tour to Dades Valley. Crossing through Todra Gorges the highest narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation will be in a fancy hotel overlooking the Dades Valley.

Day 4: Dades Valley– Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

Leaving Dades Valley towards Marrakech, driving along the valley, and Skoura, arriving at Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa, and stopping in the Atlas film studios. The UNESCO world heritage site called “Kasbah Ait Benhaddou” was classified in 1986. Ait Benhaddou Kasbah is one of many locations that served as a natural decoration for many movies such as “Alexander, Gladiator, and Babel…’’ and have lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon we will drive to the red city of Marrakech passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 m in altitude). Arrive at Marrakech and Drop off in your accommodation.

Day 5: Full day to visit Marrakech

Today will have an optional private guided tour of Marrakech, with an official guide, you will see the famous Mosque of Koutoubia, the Medina, and its souks, and explore some more of Marrakech’s secrets: Ali Ben Youssef Koranic school, the Saadian the Bahia Palace and Majorelle Gardens, a night at a Riad in the Medina.
