4 day trip itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
After we met at the place that we had agreed upon. we will begin our 4 days from Marrakech to the southeast through the High Atlas via Tizi-n-Tichka pass, with a far-reaching overview from the mountains, heading to the ancient High Atlas Berber villages. Then we will go to visit the Ait Benhaddou village, the fortified ksar with its beautiful Kasbahs. This Kasbah has served as a natural decoration for many movie producers since the 1960s. Once you get to Ait Benhaddou, then you have lunch at one of the restaurants of the Kasbahs. After, we continue our tour to Dades valley. Overnight at Hotel or Riad.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga desert
Today morning, we leave Dades valley towards Todra gorge. From here, we can appreciate the great number of kasbahs and the scenic characteristics of each one. A very good asphalt road leads up the valley from the city of Tineghir to the gorge; and then, to the Sahara desert. The scenery is spectacular, local people live in the area and can be seen in their adobe villages.
The Gorges are popular among rock climbers, after a short walk in the Todra gorges, you will have free time for lunch in a village before reaching Erfoud, you will visit a local fossil craft workshop. After that, we continue to the captivating Merzouga desert, where you will ride the camel and spend the night in a desert camp, Berber drums around the bonfire await you after dinner.
Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Nomads – Khamlia Village – Merzouga
Wake up early morning, to catch the beauty of the sunrise in the desert. then, ride camels back to the place where you will meet your driver, start a tour around the desert, and visit Nomad families and Gnaoua village Khamlia. Where we will be entertained with authentic instruments. After spending a worthwhile moment with Gnaoua, Here you will have a traditional Berber Pizza. Then, we drive to your Hotel or Riad, overnight.
Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
After breakfast, leave Merzouga desert towards Fes passing through Oasis palm grove. The biggest in the world, we will see thousands of palm trees along the 20km of road, this way leads us to the Ziz valley, which river comes down from the high Atlas and feeds the palm grove. We a stop in Midelt (the capital of Apple), just in the heart of the Atlas, and we have free time for lunch. After lunch, we drive to continue the way further south passing by several towns. then, Azrou where we will have a stop at the famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco to see Barbary apes. Then, Ifrane the Moroccan Switzerland down to Fes, end of the 4 days from Marrakech to Fes.
